How Much Wedding Cake Should I Order?

Interview (Part I)

Artemisa, Havana - September 28, 2010.
By Rolando Ramirez.

Mr. Gerardo Paez, Internet site: http://www.nuevoaccion.com/ owned by Mr. Aldo Rosado Tuerk, have been publishing a series of articles as: "The action phalanges Patria Joven say Gerardo Páez serves the interests of tyranny "on September 19.
"The publicly announced as 'clandestine guerrilla' fought four months ago with organizations of tyranny" on September 19.
"Le zumba handle tremendous opponent agrees with the arguments of tyranny", May 3.
"The car named" Patriot Sage renamed to 'Bodeguita' to continue bilking the unwary "September 16, in which serious allegations are made about him. We give you the opportunity, through this interview, clarify any misunderstandings or possible ill intentions of this man Aldo Rosado, who claims to be defending human rights, but both oppose the free and fair view of other fighters .

R. Gerardo Lord, what a certain sensitive allegations could have on that Mr. Aldo Rosado has been attributing them.

G. There is nothing true, therein lies my great dismay, when I learned that a person, said human rights advocate, not understand that issue a criterion is a right that I have and not just have to be a complicity with the regime that oppresses us and it took him and many other brothers into exile. Of course here I only see an act of mediocre intelligence, incapable of seeing beyond what we aim and the real intentions of our actions. Unless he has other dubious purposes.

R. It is true that you are in favor of actions that break with traditional methods of fighting and that undermine the ruling regime for more than half a century.

G. I always consider myself a peaceful person with a tendency to engage in dialogue to resolve conflict, I've tried on several occasions, but they, the Cuban authorities, who are opposed to dialogue and we can not wait to spend fifty years then go to a negotiating table with the dictatorship.

R. You then recognizes that it must move to another status within the opposition activities done with the express purpose of overthrowing the dictatorship as you call it.

G. And you do not think that is a dictatorship.

R. I am who you are interviewing, what I think does not matter now, but what you think.

G. Well I'll tell you that both fasting and continued closed-door meetings and the ecstatic screams down the dictatorship also behind closed doors does not hurt the regime, who would rather hurt the opposition is that with this way of doing what it does is discredit and be the laughing stock of people and of course, this has created a situation immunity from the authorities no longer even bother to monitor the activities of the opposition, because they know in advance what they can do in this kind of peace gatherings.

R. What kind of activities you propose to do then that undermine the interests of opposition.

G. The Cuban government says that the streets are revolutionaries, as Raúl Castro himself, not a whit silk our attempt taken, but the problem is that the streets are not revolutionaries or even of the opposition, the streets and the country, of all the sons of this people, confronting the government on the streets is not an act illegitimate, but a right of the people and the opposition to make their demands and to protest peacefully.

R. In one of the articles mentioned indicates that you are forming a national movement for violent activities, what's true is all this?

G. Such a fact must prove it, not try to talk the talk, there are many people who all they do is say things inconsistent and baseless, accusing people of things very delicate. In an issue like this, nobody can afford to be giving details as the government itself does not give, but creates an atmosphere of terrorism around our efforts to disqualify, but there are strategies in the struggle for obvious reasons can be disseminated.

R. Then there are things you would prefer not to say them for security reasons.

G. No, not for security reasons, but the right of expression includes the right not to talk. This you do not live in a state of law, which respects human rights. However, in a struggle for freedom, all methods are valid. Look, I'll say one thing, Marti called "war of necessity" to war, 95 so not imperative, to carry it out, but because they had exhausted all possible means to liberate Cuba from English colonial rule and there was no alternative to topple Spain. We have to explore other more effective ways to pressure the Cuban authorities for change that our people need.

R. What methods are you referring to? Do you mean more practical and effective methods in nonviolent civic struggle?

G. Yeah right. That's what I meant.

R. A specific message to the thousands of readers insurance that may have the opportunity to read this interview.

G. To our dear readers not to lose faith in our victory, because as part of the proverb says, you can not fool all the time an entire people.

R. And Mr. Aldo Rosado.

G. That Time will show who is who. Do not underestimate the intelligence of others, that readers are going to evaluate and that his residence in exile, not more reliable than others because there were also those of the Wasp Network, and a number of Cuban agents infiltrated many years, with a mission to divide us, among other things. Also, if someone agrees with the methods of Castro's agents is Aldo Rosado, discrediting opponents and projects to render it ineffective in its confrontation with the dictatorship. And infiltrating all projects to destroy from within, as happened with the municipalities of Opposition. He actually has not proposed any initiative or project itself. Only speaks of alleged shipments of money, compromising the moral right of our cause, in the same way it does the regime. And finally, say that unlike him, we are giving the face, front, soldiering on in the den of wolves. If these allegations did them here, maybe have the courage to defend them, but because it is across the Straits of Florida, the only thing that is causing me grief.
